I've usually found that it takes a while for people to get used to a new member on any site. It's a bit like starting a new job, being able to get on with your colleagues is just as important as being good at what you do. In fact in some jobs I've found trying to fit in the most stressful part.
On a site such as MyLot people have to get used to the way you write, the type of comments you leave and whether you seem genuinely interested in what they have to say. It's all part of building your reputation with already established and also new members.
Being accepted has always been very important to me as I'm sure it is to most people. I want to be seen as a valued member but I've never stuck around long enough to achieve that on MyLot and I have no idea why.
This time I feel different and I'm convinced I will stay longer. Watch this space!

Being interested enough to post and comment is always good. Some really don't read what the writer wrote and it does show at times.

@PatZAnthony Yes although sometimes I think it has more to do with misinterpretation where english is not the first language. I must admit there have been times where I have missed the point though .. embarrassing since I am British!

@allknowing Yes getting the hang of things now although I do seem to lose comments at times ..they seem to disappear

@DaddyEvil I worked out if two people are responding to the same comment, one will appear in yellow at the top and another will drop right to the bottom of the page. Sometimes when loads of people respond to the same comment it becomes confusing but I think I'm understanding what you say.

That would be great to see you around more miss sprite. I'm guessing that you were here years before? Some members seem to be here constantly while others come and go at different rates depending on whether it's life keeping them away or other things.
I usually work two jobs from April to December. When I'm doing both I'm here more when I have days off from one or the other. Right now I just had knee replacement surgery and will be off work from three to six months at the most.
While I hope to be here more than my normal once I can get around better I might try to get things done around my house by decluttering and de-'stuff'ing. By stuff I mean filtering through a to see what is needed and what is not with my 'stuff'.

I'm not sure this response fits very well with your post, but at least now you know a little bib about me. My problem is that I'm working off my tablet which is harder for me than my regular computer.

@MarshaMusselman It's a great response .. I like to hear about other members. I joined 6 years ago according to my profile but have never stayed long. I think I've been back 2 weeks this time which is excellent for me and I'm not fed up yet! I have been trying to encourage people from another forum I post on to come and join us.

Hey, I too don't get much time to spend here these days like we did before. But I guess I could spare at least an hour or so each day, if not alternate days, if not at least twice a week and if not, maybe once a week. So what say you? Shall we bring the fun back here on myLot?

I don't take it that seriously. I basically browse and enjoy. I hope people like what I write but I know it also depends on time of day.

Unfortunately I tend to drift around from site to site far too much, and don't spend as much time at myLot as I should. I need to work out where my priorities lie and get my life more organised. Maybe then I'll be able to build a reputation here instead of just popping in from time to time.

@Gina145 The same for me. Although I registered 6 years ago I have only just managed to reach cashout but people were quite positive about the site so I thought I would come back and look and after 2 weeks I still like it
