A Beautiful California Spring

After several unusually heavy storms this winter and the end of the California drought, we are now set to enjoy an incredibly beautiful spring.
This week I'll be able to walk at the beach again ... in radiant sunshine. The past few weeks, my friends and I have mostly been going to the gym or walking at the mall because of the frequent rain and chilly temperatures.
This week, the temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s, with only a small chance of light rain on Sunday evening.
Woo Hoo! This beach girl can't wait to dip her toes in the water!

@TheHorse - We are going up to the Napa Valley next weekend to celebrate the birthday of one of our daughters, and will be having dinner in San Francisco. I hope it isn't too chilly and rainy while we are there. I agree that Santa Barbara is much different from the Bay Area. I can see why you would miss it.

@Happy2BeMe - Yes, you have a while to go before it feels like summer in Canada. Once you do reach that point, you get those heavenly days with 20 hours of sunlight!

@Happy2BeMe - My husband and I were in Alaska about 10 years ago, and in Banff, Canada about 10 years before that. Both times we were there in late July and we couldn't believe how long the days were. It was wonderful!

It will be nice for you to enjoy the sunshine again! How cold is your ocean water where you live? I was in San Francisco a couple of summers ago, and when we went to the beach the water was freezing cold! I guess I'm used to our warm ocean water here in Florida!

@DeborahDiane Our ocean water can get slightly chilly in the winter, and in the summer it can get into the mid to upper 80's. But it never gets too cold because we have the Gulf Stream Current that flows offshore right up the east coast of Florida. It is a warm water current, and carries warm water all the way north and across the Atlantic to England! So the warm current ensures that we have a constant flow of warm water up our coast!

@moffittjc - Our water temperature in the winter is about 60 degrees, and it is about 68 degrees in the summer. I rarely get into the water above my knees, but my grandkids love to swim in the ocean. I enjoy wading in it the year around. You are right that the water temperature is much nicer in Florida!

The weather is beautiful here, too, I think, but I haven't had time to get out and enjoy it. I have a huge amount of work to get done in the next two weeks, as well as two more root canals and then more appointments to get crowns for them. I know my writing will suffer.

@DeborahDiane I worked really hard today and didn't get on the computer at all until now. I was too tired to post about my day. Hope to have time tomorrow night. I'll be working hard tomorrow, too, trying to haul more books out of here. got rid of about eight boxes today. Tomorrow I get rid of more. Every book in the box has to be itemized and subtracted from inventory as it's packed. It's the paperwork that takes the time.

@JudyEv - I guess it is starting to be fall in Australia, just at the time when it starts to warm up here. I heard it was in the 60s recently in Antarctica, which is crazy. It was the same temperature that day in Egypt as it was in Antarctica. I definitely believe in global warming!
