Did you miss me, even a little?

Yesterday was not a good day for a few reasons. The powers that be talked all day and evening Tuesday how bad the storms would be on Wednesday. Needless to say I didn't sleep more than a few hours that night worrying and coughing - a bad combination! Wednesday came and all weather reports called for possible tornadoes. I was prepared with my NOAH radio, lanterns, etc. I coughed my way through the day and worried - and finally the storm hit. It was literally raining sideways, first we lost satellite, then we lost power. Power was out for about an hour, which wasn't bad. Nothing serious happened here, all was well by 5 there were peeks of sun but the temperature went from mid-70s yesterday to 34 this morning. The good news, I slept 7 1/2 hours last night and only woke up once during that time. The coughing today so far is mild....so hopefully that means I'm over the hump and can soon join the land of the living! I'm still not ready to go out so my husband will hit the grocery store later as he's feeling much better. So, I'm back - hope you all have a nice day. Photo from Pixabay

Of course you are missed when we do not see you around. The cough this year has been very annoying. I finally got rid of it, but it has not been easy.

@AbbyGreenhill I have not been sick for at least 35 years, I suppose this year I was tired and stressed and the flu got me.

I am better but still coughing but not as hard or as often. I go thru this once a year and I have to say this is the mildest case of it I've had.

What a nightmare those storms must be. I would not like to have to go through one in the least. Glad that you are on the mend and yes, I did notice that you weren't here. I usually wait three or four days when regular friends go missing. Then I start plonking comments where they can see them hoping to get a reaction.

I just had no get up and go yesterday and it was better to stay away since concentration was aimed at the weather. Glad you would come looking for me after 3 days!

@mysdianait I only made it half/way thru the day and ran out of steam and then the coughing started up again.

I'm happy to see you back. It sounds like the storm came, conquered, and blew most of your cough away. I am certainly glad to hear that you are feeling better. A good nights sleep can help work wonders.

Thanks, yes, the cough is flying thru space as we speak! I think a few more nights of decent sleep and I could be back to normal.

We had extreme wind last night. I still slept well. When coughing keeps me awake, I put Vicks vaporub on my feet and socks. Shocking....strange....but I swear it works. I was skeptical when it was first suggested....scoffed.....tried it....lay in bed coughing....ya..right...like this is working. Fell asleep...slept for hours with nary a cough. Hubby tried it. Same thing...worked like a charm. I've also used it on the grandbabies...nothing ingested...just slather the soles of the feet. Side benefit...soft feet.

The coughing doesn't keep me awake...I go all night w/o coughing...it's once I get up and move around I start coughing. Glad Vicks works for you - I love Vicks but I don't think I could put it on my feet. My husband would go nuts if I went to bed smelling like that !

You are so lucky you didn't get hit with those tornadoes. I saw the news and the destruction all those tornadoes caused and I feel so bad for anyone dealing with that. Glad that you are feeling better and hopefully that cough will be gone.
