I called the shop at 7 this morning and they said my car was finally done. It was done before they closed shop last night, but when I called at 4 yesterday afternoon they were still having problems with the brake lines and asked to keep it until this morning.
The good news on all this is some of the parts are under lifetime warranty and the brake lines are under a six year warranty. So if anything goes wrong with the car, it won't cost me what I just paid for it. They applied a coupon to the total which brought it down almost a hundred dollars. I shouldn't have any more problems with this car. If I do, it's all covered, even the tires. I should only need an oil change and tune-up from now on. Regular maintenance.
I needed the car fixed by this morning as I will be leaving in half an hour for the hospital and my infusion, and being Thursday, I have laundry immediately afterward. I won't be home before 4 at the earliest. So if the complex is going to plow after yesterday's awesome snowstorm, I will be gone the required time.

@infatuatedbby It wasn't. It didn't cost me anything. It was one of the spark plug wires that wasn't connected properly when they were checking everything for the problem, it got missed.

It did, thank you. I even saw my doctor as I was leaving and had a talk with him about my concern about the medication. All's good.

I am doing laundry today, the lawn man came and trimmed or bushes and palm trees and the pest control bug man sprayed our yard today, all good. Glad you got the car back.

Oh good for you, I am happy you got your car back and all the parts are warranty. Well, now that you mentioned - it's a long story - but there was a fee on my charge card that I didn't feel was fair. I called them, and politely explained my reasoning - and they actually waived most of it
