I like the fact we rarely get natural disasters in the UK. We have a lot of rain so sometimes get flooding but no earthquakes or volcanoes like other countries.

Mauritius is an island located in indian ocean and it is a bit near South Africa. My country is recognised in many places of the world for its great sandy beaches, hotels and the local foods too. It is a multi racial and democratic country.

@IreneVincent the national language is English but our mother tongue is the mauritian creole. Basically the composition of the population is :
1. We have the europeans and their ancestors are from france and the UK
2. We have the chinese and their ancestors from china
3. And we have the general population and most of their ancestors are from africa
4. we have hindus and muslims whose ancestors mostly came from different parts of india
So we speak other languages too like french, hindi and some of chinese they speak their chinese. Due the growing number of tourists over here and the expansion of the tourism industry many people are learning other languages like spanish, german and itaian.
I would love to have you around. Would have enjoyed to act like a guide.

@Nawsheen Thank you for that information. I did locate Mauritius on the map. I have done a lot of traveling but not in your direction. Mostly to Europe and the Far East and in 45 of the U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
I enjoy learning about other countries and would love to be able to visit your island, but I doubt if I ever will. I'm older now and have a few health issues. So, I have to be an "armchair" traveler now.
What is the National language spoken in Mauritius?

Very nice post. Thank you for bringing the topic.
Everybody love their country and there are several things to like. I am from India and it is a large country, full of natural beauty including all like sea beach and hills, desert and snow fields.
But above all these natural beauties, I like the unity in diversity in India. There are so many different people, different cultures, traditions, dresses, food habits etc but we all are united within one nation - India. I really wonder, how these many people have stayed together so long with these many differences!
So if you like natural beauties, come to our country you will get all sort of things in on country and if you like people then also come to our country.

That is a beautiful photograph. I'm in the United States where there are so many different foods to eat. My area has a lot of Agriculture where many different kinds of food are grown like lemons, oranges and strawberries.
