I do confess to being a little unsure about this. I am in favour of the way that homosexuality no longer carries any stigma, which was well overdue. However, Disney is targeted towards children, so any sexuality should be avoided.

@Mike197602 I am not suggesting that it should not be done, just that I have some reservations.

They've been slowly testing the LGBT waters over the past year... Finding Dory (although that one was almost too subtle to be noticed), Star Vs The Forces of Evil, and now Beauty & the Beast. I think it's great that they're willing to normalize all kinds of families!

I think that is awesome. It would be nice if shoes were more true to life and had more gay characters.

As Disney is aimed specifically at kids as long as it is portrayed sensitively then I think that most kids these days would not bat an eyelid. That's life.

I think this is great. Kids are more resilient and accepting then adults give them credit for.

I heard about a drive-in-theater somewhere in the states which refuses to show the movie.

I am not disturbed by it and I suspect that children are not even going to notice, they are not judgemental like adults.

I am glad that things like this are being done and gays can be open about who they are. One of my friends in high school had to hide who he was. He took me to places and met his boyfriend there . That was sad that he had to do that. Hide who he really was.

It wouldn't affect me one way or the other if they displayed a gay character, BUT I hope that it doesn't bring up protests and insults, that is what I would really hope does not happen. I say, live and let live and get along, so hopefully that will happen.

It will be interesting to see how they introduce the gay character.
