It ended up being a 'paying' gig...

So I went last night to set up and run sound for 4 'punk' bands at a bar here. And I didn't know if I was going to be paid, or if it would wind up being a 'freebie'. 4 free beers, 2 free CD's, and $40 later I found out I was getting paid for it. Yeah, $40 isn't a lot, but it is more than I would have made here at myLot on a Saturday night. And it was just a minimal system, 30 minutes to set it up at the beginning and break it back down at the end. Plus, I picked up two more paying gigs from it, so it was a good night.

I think it was a pleasant event too, it was surely not too bad compared to the myLot earnings for 4 hours on a Saturday night.

That's actually a lot of money. And more to come since you got two more coming. Good job Scar's not going to be happy being alone at home

Why 'punk'? Were they really bad?

Wasn't bad...had a few equipment malfunctions, but it goes with the territory, someone always kicks something loose while bands are changing out equipment

I wondered how this would turn out. I'm glad you got some payment for it and some paying gigs to come. Cool! I love it when things work out well.

If you were expecting it to maybe being a freebie, then what you got is not too shabby! And who knows what more you will get with those 2 paying gigs!

I'm meant to ask in the last post I visited if you got paid or not. It's only fair surely.
