Simple Solution

Most Monday mornings my husband has a work related conference call. It was not bad when it took place at seven. He did not start his day too late. Then the boss changed it to seven thirty. That meant that if he continued in the same way, he was never at work until around 8:30 in the morning. Much later than he likes to start. I finally told him just to go, take the call at work, on his cell phone. He likes that. If he does not hear everything on the call there is a transcript or information is e mailed. My husband left the house before 6:30 this morning. He will not be running really late this evening because of starting late. He may actually be early. He will be able to work on his tasks while participating in the call. I am glad for him. Monday's were making him very tired.

Glad there could be a solution for him. He gets to take his call, and still be home reasonably at the end of the day. Now, lets hope they don't chance the call time on him again.

Well now that he accepts that he can get to work and still have the call on his phone while doing so it is going to be a lot easier.

Sometimes we just need to step back and look at the big picture. The solution is often right under our noses.

Sounds like something I would do. Right now I'm procrastinating as I don't to get in bed with sick Steve. Number 1, I don't want to catch it. Number 2, how much sleep will I get around his coughing when I have a hard time sleeping when he's in the bed already?

I hear you will get your house back to yourself. Yay! When my first husband was sick I would sleep in the recliner some nights.

They are not really bad, just awkward with that call.

That sounds like a much better idea, he shouldn't have to work later because of a required conference call.

That is right. Since he starts his day early every day, he should be able to get some work done.

yeah, I would go in and start my day before that call then, and deff take it at work.

He used to worry that he would not hear as well, and also is concerned because we do pre paid phones, but they are really cheap and he gets to read the info from the call as well. It seems to be working better.

@GardenGerty he might be able to forward the call or have it get to him at work perhaps, but yeah, prepaid cells are cheap

It is great to have that flexibility. I'm glad you suggested he take it at work, otherwise it seemed as if his Mondy wasn't going to start off very well.

That sounds like the ideal solution. Some bosses don't realise how inconvenient meetings can be.
