Monday Afternoon Music War

Once in awhile, my girlfriend and I play what we call "Music Wars," where we sit around, and, with extremely different tastes, play music for each other until one of us "wins," usually by playing something unexpected, out of character, or just plain cool. They are usually by challenge, but often are impromptu, and can sometimes turn into all nighter's. In today's case, I issued the challenge. Her sample: "I'll be There" by The Jackson 5, "What's Love Got to Do With It?" by Angela Bassett and Tina Turner, "Some Gave All" by Billy Ray Cyrus, "Seminole Wind" by John Anderson, "Have You Forgotten?" by Darryl Worley. My sample: "The Start of the Breakdown" by Tears for Fears, "Ball of Confusion" by Love and Rockets, "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" by April Wine, "Children's Story" by Slick Rick, "Metal" by Gary Numan. This one was over fairly quickly. Her strategy has always been to bombard me with modern country and soft rock (with a little R&B tossed in today,) then pull out something unexpected. She has won, in the past, with stuff from Hee Haw or vintage Herb Alpert, for instance, so the last thing I was expecting was today's winner: The Sid Vicious version of "My Way." Nope. Was not at all expecting that from my Tim McGraw-loving girlfriend. Music War over.

Oh, we have to have a winner, which is hardly ever me, because no matter what I play, it's not surprising.

@teamfreak16 Oh hey, I can help you win. Maybe next time you could break out some Jpop or something like AKB48 's "Sugar Rush"... instrumentals from film scores, Tv.... ? My friend and I would take turns, he'd play a song, I'd play a song - we'd each criticize the other's choice.

@FayeHazel - I actually had a classical piece lined up, but she pulled Sid up and that was it.

So how are the respective wins adding up? Mostly 50-50? Or does one of you have an edge over the other mostly?
