The Sugar Maple Tree

Sugar Maple tree at Monmouth Battlefield
United States
March 8, 2017 8:30am CST
I was out for a lunchtime hike at Monmouth Battlefield one afternoon with the intention of shooting the Sutfin House (you have read about the house in earlier discussions) but the best shot of the day was this one. I hiked over to the house, shot from various angles, distances, etc.... and then started back to my car. It was then that I saw this magnificent tree standing out against the sky. You can see the Sutfin House in the distance but it is the tree that is the star of this show. All photos are copyright Joseph S. Thank you, Angel. The clouds are actually what inspired me to go shoot there that day. I always look to the sky before deciding where to shoot.
