What a Wasted Day!

After being sedated yesterday, I spent most of today half asleep. I finally went back to bed for a nap about 11, but my nearest neighbor was using a chain saw and then doing something that made very loud thuds, as though he was dropping boulders into a dumpster. I couldn't see the action through the fences. I didn't get any sleep, but I got part of a book read. I had my white noise machine on full blast on one side of the bed, and easy listening music on the other, trying to drown out the noise. I finally gave up trying to sleep and made lunch. I watched TV for an hour while I ate, and then finished my book. I sorted a couple of book boxes and then got on the computer. I scheduled my tweets for tomorrow and checked my new followers on all accounts and followed back the ones I wanted to. Only then did I get to my myLot notifications. I'm hoping to get some real writing done tomorrow (actually later today since it's almost 2 AM), but if my husband stays home, I know it won't happen. I can't make any plans these days because I never know what projects he will want to do that require my help. These little projects seem to drizzle during the day or whenever he's home. It's not like we can do them all at once so I can then go off-duty. We do them as he remembers them throughout the day or evening and then he wants to do them NOW. I'd like to start editing the page I was working on a couple of days ago and write the new review. What do you have planned for today? What sorts of things keep you from executing your planned activities?

Atleast you did not waste those hours. My day was good. I cooked pork today which is rare here. It turned out good. Then there was gardening. Planted a cashew sapling which had germinated in a wrong place. The clutter on my dining table needed sorting out too. I could say it was a fulfilling day.

@bagarad My garden is blessed with those that are new entries. Do not have the heart to throw them away but they are all growing in places where I have flowers (lol)

@bagarad We love our plants and that having said it will break my heart to pull out those saplings that I see among flowers. I might even give up those flowers for these trees. They have come on their own and I think one of them is the custard apple sapling Your tree is beautiful. How can you uproot it now

Trees certainly do plenty of germinating in wrong places. They can be sneaky about it, too. I had an oak sneak in under some oleander bushes and it went unnoticed until it grew higher than they were. Now I've got to find a way to get rid of it before it grows too thick to get rid of legally.

Dear Miss Barb, I hate it when I get woken up by chainsaws, too. I'm such a scaredy-cat, any loud, scary noise wakes me up. But after I find out it won't hurt me, I can sleep right through it. Being a cat, I know a thing or two about sleep, and I'm very good at it. I must get back to my nap now. I just wanted to say meow. Sincerely, Huckleberry the Cat, Kitty Blogger

Huckleberry, I wish it were as easy for me to get to sleep as it is for you.

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled I think they would only work for a cat.

Sounds like quite the day you had. It is already 7:44pm here in Manila and the day was fine. Got to work out, got to get some extra sleep, and now I'm just waiting for my student to log in so we can start our lesson later at 8:00pm. In the meantime, I'm here in myLot posting and commenting.

More like I wished I had a remote control to turn it off. My white noise machine blocks out most sounds, but that chainsaw was really loud and very close. It didn't help that it sounded like the drill the dentist was using when I was only partially conscious under sedation.

Shopping for fabric (like I really need more) is near the top of my list for today. Later this afternoon we will be eating out. More on that later.

Sounds like you're getting more done than I today. I got a late start since I didn't fall asleep until around 4 this morning. It's hard to get back on a normal sleep schedule when I get sedated at 2:30 in the afternoon the day before and sleep most of the day. Then I start to perk up around bedtime and try to get something done and I'm not sleepy by my normal bedtime between midnight and two.

We need to go into town to vote soon then we have to pack up after last night's concert. That's enough for one day. :)
