First of all, the monthly sit n' sew at the quilt shop has been cancelled for the 2nd month in a row. This makes me sad as I always look forward to going. I had my project out all ready to go. I should be good and work on it at home this evening, but knowing me, I doubt I will. February was cancelled due to an impending ice storm. This month it's cancelled because the shop owner has come down with the flu and none of the other employees were available to sit with us this evening. I got my Frugal Friday with Marsha post written up and posted to my blog this morning. What started out as talking about how I use notepads that I pick up free for my notes and lists turned into telling what's written on it today so far. I included links and everything. Lots of people here at myLot ask what I do.....it will baffle many. Have you seen on the news something about the tax on soda going up? I had noticed a pretty big jump in the price of Dr Pepper when I went to buy one, then seen it on the news later that day. It was now $1.95 with tax for a 2 liter. Ouch! I was just at the store with my mom and was planning to buy 1 2 liter. Yay!! I found it to be on sale for .88 each when you bought 4. I stocked up a bit at that price and bought 8. Sure beats $1.79 each plus tax for sure! My grocery shopping expanded from there. I opened ibotta to see if there was anything brand name I could get. I seen Freshetta frozen pizza. I thought that sounded good and easy for part of supper. I found it to be on the buy 5 save $5 sale and my shopping went on from there LOL I had to go find 4 more things on the buy 5 sale you know. With the thought in my mind of food for hubby and me, I ended up getting meatballs, margarine, turkey lunch meat and Goldfish crackers. I also picked up a half gallon of milk on sale for .99 and my Friday Freebie of a V-8 energy drink. My oldest daughter finally found a house to rent so they have been busy moving things out. If I thought the house was a wreck before, I was wrong. So many things are just laying around now. She is about to get some boxes packed by me and labeled "Box of Crap packed courtesy of Mom" hehe. Well, I will quit blabbing now and head on to see what is going on in the lives of other mylotters. Have a great weekend!

We get our Dr.Pepper at the Family Dollar. We try not to drink too much and so it works well for us. A wreck of a house is called a home. It's lived in.

@celticeagle Yes, other than taking some clothes and such from our house they have been busy clearing the storage unit before payment is due on it again.

@marsha32 .....That seems like a good idea. Family can wait. It's those people out there expecting money for their services one needs to deal with first.

quilt shop---the store that specializes in fabrics and all the items needed for sewing and quilting. Each month we have what is called sit n' sew where we bring in our projects and sewing machines etc to the store and we sit and sew, and socialize for 4 hours.

@ShifaLk If I work at the quilt shop, which isn't often, I get paid in gift certificates which I use to go to quilt retreats. We just sew at the shop for the socializing time. What I make I try to sell myself in my etsy shop online.

I have been waiting to hear that she would be moving. Of course you will still have the kids a lot on days off from school if she is working.

I asked if she was planning on also cleaning here too. She said yes but I wonder how long I have to wait....probably I will end up doing it myself as usual. I can't talk Jasmine into moving back in here instead of to Burrton with Justice's family as she is bound and determined they are raising Amelia together. I think it will be a HUGE mistake for her to move with them there...especially since she has no car or license to get herself around and will have to depend on them to get her to work etc.

You are busy. And yes you need to pack up your daughter's stuff. Than maybe you will have an extra room.

She hasn't taken much from here yet...mostly just a few dishes and a FEW of the kids' clothes......and they got the beds out of the basement. Mostly they are getting their stuff out of the storage unit.....I can't blame her though, get it out and stop paying each month to store it.

We don't buy soda (no surprise there) but always wonder why there is a tax on anything considered a food. In North Carolina, almost everything is taxed. Some states do not do this.

Some states there is no sales tax on food. It's not that way for us here in Kansas though.

I am glad to know that your daughter found a house, you will have more place for you and less problems with all the cats and kittens now.

Wrong daughter....this is the oldest daughter who has lived here with her 5 children for going on 2 years. She will, however, be taking her dog with her. I just wish she would hurry and get him out of here, then maybe I can get my youngest daughters cats out of my craft room.

@LadyDuck Hubby pretty much forced her to get the dog out of here just by not shutting up about it.

I used to do quite well with ibotta. Everyone you are connected to in facebook that is also doing ibotta is on your 'team'.....team total purchases bring bonus money. You have to do so much of that yourself to get the bonus too which is why I'm trying to find one of the name brand items in there each week (when I have money that is).

I have a cold and I really don't feel like doing anything so I thought I stop by my friends and read their latest and say HI! I remember the mess when the kids moved out, Never liked carbonated drinks so I don't drink pop or soda depending where you grew up. Sorry your quilt night was cancelled...I know how the owner feels - nasty!!
