So, I found myself in the area where a Krispy Kreme is. I get in to the mood for one of their doughnuts from time to time, I bought just one and it was 1.29!!!!! for one doughnut! What an absurd price..I should have driven away, as I was at a drive thru window..but silly me, I bought it. Have you ever been astounded by a price increase?

I have known some extortionate prices, but this is just over £1 and a ridiculous price for a doughnut.

@snowy22315 I would have to want one desperately to pay that price.

We only have one remaining Krispy Kreme out here, but it's still a bit of a drive. We went there over winter break after not going for years . . . and although I can't remember the exact price, yes, it did seem rather expensive for a doughnut. Well, at least the kids got to see how the donuts were made - and we were there quite a while. I suppose we can think the cost of the doughnut as the price plus tip .

Yeah, if it had been hot, it might have almost been worth it!

@snowy22315 I forgot to mention too that when we were there, we were given a couple of samples . . . like half of a chocolate donut . . . and a whole doughnut hole. So I felt obligated to buy one no matter what .

This sounds to be a too high price for a doughnut, I think I would have refused it.

It wasn't really worth the money, but I felt committed.

I have always been impressed with the coffee shops that charge $5 for a simple coffee
