I Am Wondering If It Is The Same Person Doing It

For many months now, it seems like every week or two, someone will send me the same type of Friend's Request on Facebook. It will be a profile with the same type of middle aged man's picture, with the same type of real common name (for example: Mike Reed or David Brown, or names that have the last name as the first name). The same type of professions will be on there like "former military" or "a banker". On occasion, the guy will have a kid in the picture, like he is divorced or widowed and has a child. Always, the guys are single. And most always, he has no friends on his profile. Sometimes, he will have a few friends, but mostly, no friends. Now, I always delete the request and hit the Spam button. And, it got me to thinking the other day, "could it be the same person who is doing this"? Could it be some nut who wants to hack me, who just keeps making new profiles when I report him as a Spam Account and his profile gets flagged and deleted by Facebook? Or, could it be my weird ,estranged Uncle who I told you about who I realized was following me and then I blocked him? Or, could it be an old boyfriend I use to date, who I know is on Facebook, who could have looked me up and when he realized I was on Facebook, decided to play with my mind? It is really sickening how these weirdo's just don't seem to take a hint. After so many attempts at trying to get into my Friend's list and not being able to, you would think they would quit.

@LeaPea2417 - Yes, I wouldn't take it personally; I don't think you have a stalker, unless he's after me, too!

Yes, most of those who do that kind of thing online are nut cases.

The answer could be "all of the above", and I get them occasionally. Then ignore, delete or block them.

It is way too much fruitless effort on their part.

That does sound very weird. They can't have much of a life if this is the best they can manage.

Now that you mention it, I do remember when I first got on Facebook years ago, there was one younger African guy I let on my friends list (this was before I understood about scams etc) and he actually asked me if I could adopt him, LOL. I didn't respond that much to him after that and eventually he deleted me.

After a few of those, it started to get creepy. With my permission, someone used my page to message him saying I was busy, but would respond later and signed his Facebook name. Don't know if that would work for you. Also, keep in mind that b/c we write, some will be in contact with us as they are also writing on this or another site.

I glance at the friends requests but don't really look at them except to delete them.

That does sound strange. I don't use facebook a lot, but I just ignore things like that.

Yes, just lately I've been getting these requests. I ignore those from people I've never met and if it is from someone I know I contact them through mutal friends just in case
