Friday night, supper eaten, I started playing with my laptop. Whoopie. Then: NO internet. Thought it would be back on soon. No. All lights on router were green. I rebooted anyway. Nothing. Hubby and I took Sally pup to town for a lake side walk today. While we were gone, roommate went in and closely checked out everything, even the on/off switch for the power strip. She discovered that the strip's off/on switch was toggled just a teeny bit toward off. Probably one of the cats had nudged it? The internet came back on. I guess there was just enough lack of power that the internet would not work. I'm just glad to be back- and what a back log you sweet folks have left for me to wade through! Thanks.

You obviously have a laptop, several of which have such switches. I have never understood the reason for fitting such a switch in the first place.

@Asylum The switch was a surge protector; a plug in for several uses.

WE have had this problem but it was because the internet people put our wire into someone else's and we are not paying enough to have a higher tier of internet haha

@sallypup It happens so often haha It is because they rather just mess up everything rather than fixing the faulty wires.

Isn't it odd how these little things happen and take us on another adventure?

@PatZAnthony I am concerned that we seem to have electrical issues in this doublewide mobile from time to time.

Whenever something goes wrong here, my first question is always 'what's the simplest thing it could be' and often the solution is something like a loose switch or plugged switched off.
