Daylight Savings Time is Playing Havoc with My Sleep

I don't know about you, but the time change always throws me off. Sunday and Monday I slept way later than usual, I got up at 9:30 yesterday. I also have trouble going to sleep. I was awake until 2 a.m. last night. I will be very glad when my body adjusts to the new time. I am feeling rather hung over today. My husband the comedian asked me if it was the one beer he had at dinner last night and does that mean he has to give up drinking!! lol If I was feeling better, I would be laughing lol

It has not messed up my sleep, but eating times. Now I'm not hungry when we normally eat since it's an hour before....I guess my tummy will catch up eventually

@BelleStarr What confuses me is why you call it Daylight Saving Time. It cannot affect the amount of daylight per day.

@Asylum I haven't a clue where the name comes from but it certainly is more useful daylight!!

When a person is on a schedule this time change can be rough. Your husband sounds like a clown.

Changing times do affect sleeping patterns. You can try to listen to some music. They may help

I haven't been sleeping well the last 6 weeks with my hubby being out of town, so it hasn't affected me. I hope that your body gets in sync soon!

@BelleStarr We close on the 31st, so he will come home on the 30th as we'll need to go and sign papers together on the 31st. I'm actually not sleeping too bad since the time change, its helped me-although I'm up right now unable to sleep.

Well, just as I was having sleep problems for other reasons, the time change kicked in and now I'm just tired all the time. And I have to keep getting up early for a lot of different reasons. So I have to rely on little naps during the day to survive. I'm not happy. Hope your sleep adjusts soon!

@BelleStarr it's great that you can get 7 hours in somewhere. With my sleep apnea, it takes me more like 12 hours to get my 7, but I'm just working around it the best I can.

I don't usually suffer any effects but this year I have for some reason. It has changed my timing on a lot of stuff. Yesterday I thought it was still the morning when it was already 2 in the afternoon. I don't like being out of sync like that.

I know how you feel with this time change. I go to be at my usual time according to the clock and toss and turn for an hour or more until my body decides it's time to go to sleep. Each night gets better though. In a few more days I should be adjusted.
