Does the weather affect your pets' behavior?

My old man cat (14 years) doesn't like bad weather at all. This morning the wind was whipping and I had gone back to bed. He jumped right onto the bed and snuggled up with me. He never does that. With thunderstorms we put him under the blankets and he shakes and drools.

Thats really interesting. Maybe they have some sort of sixth sense over it. Like they can sense its coming? I havent noticed anything with my roommates dog except she doesnt like to go out when its really cold or snowy. Lol.

I dont have pets. But have heard that they can feel it before than human. They can feel the strange changes either. I heard some stories about pets who behave strange in Tsunami in 2006

yea,one of my girl cats was upset about the wind this morning.it freaks her out for some reason.

I do not see Preiti doing that but takes care of herself such as basking in the sun when it is cold inside. She gets under the table when there is thunder around (lol)

They are both beautiful cats. I love their names! Our dog used to mind the weather too, she'd get odd and anxious when it would storm. And she hated hearing the wind whistling outside.

It seems this way to us. They are quiet and sleeping when it is cold or stormy.

Poor cats! They sound like they're quite stressed although that's a lovely restful photo. When the weather is terrible I always want to bring Herc up into the lounge although he has a lovely snug shed where he is.

My dogs can't stand a lightning storm. Castle and Beckett (name after the characters in the TV series) would be so distraught they would be barking and running around wildly. Castle is the more cowardly. He would jump into my lap and cover his eyes with his paws. I can feel his heart beating rapidly as I try to calm him with soothing words while hugging him tightly.

They say animals can sense weather's changing or something. Maybe that's why they're like that. It's hot these days so my cats sleep a lot in the bathroom. In fact, they look tired. I hope they won't get sick.

My SId sends them both a great big sympathetic meow. He knows what a big wind means. Once the wind picks up he is practically bouncing off the walls. Running up and down the stairs. Wanting out and then getting a face full of wind and running back in and almost knocking me down. I usually find a place where I can be out of the way and let him run himself out like a clock unwinding and finally settle down You have such adorable cats their names make me think of this - Merle Haggard and Harley Davidson

It's only when my troop ears thunder and lightning that things get a 'little hairy' @Happy2BeMe .

My cat Mildred seems to eat more, sleep more and often snuggles by the radiators on the really cold days.

The kitties are practicing what they do best!
