I keep hearing that cable is dying! / myLot

I hope that whatever replaces it is cheaper and allows DVR's. I like to watch shows at my convenience and fast forward through the commercials. Has anyone heard what's coming to replace cable?

Streaming but the problem with streaming is unreliability. Last night YouTube was not functioning for me and that's just one example of erratic streaming service.
