I Can Dream Can't I??

Yesterday was such a nice day with the high reaching 90 degrees on the last official day of winter. My youngest daughter bought me a newspaper. I looked at the open houses for the day and circled a bunch I wanted to go to. I only ended up going to 2 houses. One was $94,900 and was 3 bedroom, one full bath, open kitchen, enclosed tiled front porch, 3 car garage and a 400 square foot rental cottage. The enclosed porch was for sure like nothing I have ever seen and was totally awesome. There was also a covered patio out the back sliding door with a fire pit. The 3 car garage was huge. The cottage in the back was super cute. The only one bathroom would sway me from actually buying it though as one bathroom just doesn't work LOL The other house I was sad to arrive at and it seems the open house was cancelled. The realtor sign was out, but no one was there and no signs of there being an open house. I really wanted to look at that one too! $139,900 and it was 3 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, 2 half baths, large sun room, 1 car garage, office/retail space, and a 30x30 workshop. Zone both residential and commercial. Darn the luck because I could really dream there as most of you know that I have a dream of opening a store to sell my crafts and second hand items. I was telling my husband about it and all he could say was "zoned commercial doesn't mean anything except a higher tax rate" Way to burst my dream bubble there.... of course it's not a good idea though because it's not his idea. Like I said, I can dream can't I??? How many pennies would it take for $140,000? More than I can earn online, especially since those pennies are needed for something every time they come in.

Big things start from a dream, go ahead, lets do it, it's free.

And it doesn't hurt anything. I need to start from here though and get busy with my online shop at etsy.

I ran my own business for twelve years. I breathed such a sigh of relief when it closed and another enormous sigh of relief when the building sold six months later.

I had a large booth inside a flea market for a couple of years and LOVED it. I had a 1200 sq ft store inside. I took in a lot of consignments as well as having my own stuff. I miss it terribly.

It is good you can still dream. If you could even get into it, the income would help pay the payments for sure.

Unfortunately it's not anything except a dream and won't ever be more. For one we still have about 18 years on this mortgage and for another hubby has totally ruined his credit rating.

@marsha32 , of course you can dream, it is a pain when someone assumes an idea is not good because it is not their own. I know what you mean about the pennies, always something needing to be done with them.

I was advised that I could sell my handcrafted items on the online Etsy store - have you tried it?

Yes, I've had my shop there for years. I have several things done to list and really need to get around to getting pictures and getting them listed! I also need to learn to promote my items better too.

I think it's important to dream. Sometimes they even come true.

I used to go to the open houses they had here in the spring. I loved to dream about living in one. The pennies I earn on here have a need every month too. No way to save. Wish I could go on a vacation too.

Those higher taxes would stop us! Yes, we can dream. Do the cottage have facilities?
