It's raining in the San Francisco Bay Area! What will my kid client and I do?

I'm closing out with one of my favorite kid clients and wanted to take him on an extra long hike today. But it just started raining! What should I do--bundle us both up and hike anyway? He's the kid I took to the snow two weeks ago.
Or should we just do indoor stuff, like seed (Home Depot) and planter (Dollar Tree) shopping, so I can leave him with a bunch of Summer "crops," planted and ready to grow, as "transitional objects"?
Any thoughts? Hows the weather where you are?

Rainy and cool here as usual. I like the crops idea.

Alittle of both is always nice. If the rain is light of course. Shopping is nice on a rainy day. Crafts are too.

it is supposed to rain but it may not. sounds like you have a wonderful idea. what kid would not love to nurture a plant. hope he loves it.

@bunnybon7 I'm sad to be closing with him. We have a great relationship.

You could study the circulation of water and rain with him at home and make him draw what he's learnt.
You could explain why rain is necessary.
You could go out with him and play in the mud. Show him how to built a dam.
Fold paper sailing boats with him and let them swim in a puddle.

If it's just drizzly I would probably still go for a hike, otherwise the seeds and planter sounds like a good idea. Jigsaw puzzles...making music....baking something, even a mix..are all good indoor ideas

@Morleyhunt Yeah, and one of my rough tough ghetto kids wanted to cook spaghetti with me. We would have had a great time but couldn't.

@TheHorse that's too bad. I find creating something in the kitchen is such a great learning-teaching opportunity.

I sometimes like to cycle in the rain in Winter at Inspiration Point, where I took my best sunset picture. It's "hecka" chilly up there in the Winter, though not really cold by non-California standards. I bundle up and make sure I wear a hoodie.
