It's an ill wind that blows no good

I've often written about the bus my husband and I transformed into a motor-home. The time has come to move it on as it is a big vehicle and I don't have a licence to drive it should anything happen to Vince. It is sometimes awkward to park and because it is so big we are restricted in where we can take it. We have bought a 4-wheel drive and a caravan (trailer in the US, I believe) and now we need to sell the bus. We were also going to a car boot sale on Saturday to sell some of the stuff that we have around the place that we no long have any need of. When someone was keen to view the bus but could only come on Saturday, we decided to forego the car boot sale as selling the bus was more important. But last night we had a call saying the guy had decided not to go ahead with his plans of buying a bus. So that's disappointing but now we're free to go to the sale so, as the old saying goes, it is an ill wind that blows no good.

That is always disappointing and it seems to happen to us a lot as well. We seem to run into snags when we try to sell things.

Sometimes we do. Other times things sell very quickly.

At least he called and let to know that he wouldn't be coming and not just be a now show and then you would have missed the car boot sale too.

Exactly. We have no complaints that way at all. We spent part of today sorting out what we want to sell.

Taking decisions such as this shows you both have your head on your shoulders. People take years to decide to clear what lies in their homes.

You could always put it on ebay with a realistic reserve.

@Mike197602 That is interesting. This is big and set up well so it might be a bit expensive for most tourists - although we bought a motor-home in Ireland so I guess there are buyers out there.

@JudyEv not sure if I've told you this before but my sister and brother in law converted a bus and went around Australia. As a kid my brother in law came to oz with his parents but went back after a few years. Then my sis and BiL went back and converted a bus, not as big as yours it was smaller. Drove around for 9 months or so and had to come back as his mum had cancer. Lent it to our step brother who was an idiot They eventually sold it on ebay australia and more or less broke even. You'd have to check the listing fees and maybe use it as a last resort but people in the UK look for that sort of thing if they want to backpack and have a little money...ebay gets everywhere. I'm 90% sure their bus got listed in oz but bought by UK people.

Aw, so sorry the deal fell through. Maybe it's because someone else willing to pay more is going to want it .... I've got my fingers crossed for ya. Yep, you're right, it's called a trailer or even a camper here.

I'm sure that someone else will come along and buy it up and have many a good times in it. We had someone here last weekend to look at our riding lawn mower, and said he wanted to buy it, but my husband emailed him today and he said that he was going to pass on it. While he was test driving it in our front yard, a neighbour told my husband that he'd buy it if that guy didn't, so it is sold, maybe that will happen with your bus.
