My granddaughter got the flu

I got I call from my daughter this morning to let me know that my granddaughter wouldn't need a drive to school this morning because she was sick. Destinee has been throwing up for the last twelve hours or so. She said she put in a terrible night.
My daughter said she hoped that we don't get it since Destinee would have been contagious when she spent the night at our house. I guess time will tell whether we get it or not.
It looks like my granddaughter may be missing her Spring Music Concert on Thursday evening. She practiced so hard for it. She will be so disappointed if she has to miss it. I do hope that she is feeling better soon. It is always sad when out little ones aren't feeling well.
I sure hope I don't get it.

Oh goodness I hope she feels better soon. I'm sure she will be so sad since she has to miss her concert, that's terrible. Getting sick always seems to happen at the worst possible times. I hope your household doesn't get it.

Thank you. I am hoping she will feel better so that she can attend her concert but time will tell. She will miss her hair appointment today which she was really looking forward to. It will have to be next week sometime when she feels better.

It's the worst when the little one get sick. I couldn't eat or sleep when my kids were sick

Thank you! I talked to her today and she said she will be at her concert this evening. She didn't go to school today. She is going to rest but she is feeling much better.

@Tina30219 I am happy about that. I was glad when she called me here at work and she sounded pretty good. She was just hungry she said because she didn't eat all day yesterday. Her mom was cooking her something to eat when she called.

@Happy2BeMe One of my nephews did not eat one day when he had the flu, and his sugar went out of whack and it caused a seizure. We had to call the ambulance, I do not want this for Destinee. Even if your daughter has time to make up some jello, that would feel good on her tummy. I hope that she feels better soon.

Thank you. I will be talking to my daughter later and I will mention the Canada Dry. I use to give it to them when they were little and it sure helped.

I hope Destinee didn't spread those nasty flu germs to your house but as you said, time will tell. Hope you don't get it and I'm sure Destinee is not only sick but sad that she will miss the concert she practiced so hard for.

the usual perception of us grown ups is-- it would be better for us to get sick rather than the young ones.

@Happy2BeMe it is because the young kids do not have a fully-developed immune system. but the older people may think otherwise; it can be because the older people are more prone to illness because their immune system are already worn out.

I got a flu shot this year and will do that yearly from now on, so sorry she is sick and I hope you don't get it..too bad about the concert but maybe she will get well soon...
