We had an appointment today with a dietician to go over my better half's diabetic diet. His sugar count was up when he saw his family doctor a few days ago so the doctor recommended we go. This lady was very informative. She knows her job.She went over everything with us and gave us a folder full of information. We were pretty well on the money with his usual diet but the servings were too large. So, really there wont be a big change in his diet. It's mostly smaller servings. And his vegetable salads don't have to be counted so he can always have a salad if he's hungry. He had already lost some weight and needs to lose a few more pounds. Anyway, we're very happy with how the meeting went. Sleep well you guys. I'll see you tomorrow if nothing breaks bigger than a frog hair.

Glad to hear that the visit with the dietitian went well and that he won't have to make too many changes. That will make things a lot easier for him to adjust to things. Good night. Sleep well and we will see you around tomorrow.

I am glad he does not have to change his diet, it's always a problem to make changes.

I do think that being diabetic should be cautious on what to eat. A dietician is the best thing to ask for advice.

Yes, you hear all sorts of advice that isn't right. I'd rather have it from a trained person.

Thanks, I think he will need it. This is the first time he's taken his diet seriously. But so far so good. He seems to be determined.

I think You're right. She gave him a test about food before she began the class and he made 90. She was surprised. She said usually people who came in didn't have a clue.

Smaller changes are easy enough to handle and hopefully he will do well with this! Love that vegetable salads are always a great part of keeping us healthy.

True, you can't go wrong with a vegetable salad and he doesn't have to count those. One disappointment is the small fruit servings.

Doesn't sound like you have to make any significant changes other than smaller portions. Hopefully this will help with his blood sugar come down

How can someone be a dietitian? Do they need to take a license exam?

I hope things go well with his new portion sizes. I do know that the more green, leafy vegetables, the better. That's the one thing I try to do when I'm hungry and it's not time for a meal yet!

Here I see so many going for herbs that control diabetes. Even fenugreek they say is good. Don't you have any herbs that can help your husband?
