How Sad!

My daughter and I are planning another visit to the Virginia Art Museum this summer. The last time we visited the museum, there was an exhibit featuring the work of Picasso. I would like to see some of Vincent Van Gogh’s 900 paintings. One of his paintings sold for $82.5 million, in 1992. The sad thing is that during Van Gogh’s lifetime, he only sold one painting: “Red Vineyard at Arles.” What do you know about Vincent Van Gogh? Have you ever seen any of his paintings? Did you ever see the movie about him, starring Kirk Douglas? I’m trying to remember the name of the movie. The painting shown here is "Starry Night" one of his most famous paintings.

Yes, everyone should go to an art museum, at least, once in their lifetime. You might enjoy it more than you think. I find museums very interesting. They are quiet and just walking around and looking at everything can be very relaxing.

@Courtlynn There are still a couple museums in this area (Richmond, VA) that I haven't visited yet. The Edgar Allen Poe Museum is one that I haven't seen. A friend of mine went and said that the tour guide really promotes the paranormal aspect of the building and that alone has kept me away. I don't want anything to do with that.

It seems that he was troubled. It makes a person wonder when they observe his paintings.

I haven't seen Vincent Van Gogh's real masterpieces yet. I like his painting very much. My Kindle cover is from Van Gogh's Starry Night. It is an amazing painting. I haven't watched the movie about him but I heard the song Starry Starry Night.

I haven't seen any of his masterpieces either, but I'm hoping that I will get to see some of them at the Art Museum here one day. I love visiting museums, especially ART museums.

@youless Did you read my recent post about Paint Night and see my painting? I have a little talent and would like to take some classes. I have a niece who really needs to promote her paintings. She is excellent.

Yes, I enjoy going to museums, especially ART museums. Just walking around the museum and pondering over the items there makes me feel relaxed and contemplative.

I have seen Lust for Life with Kirk Douglas. I have been to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam which has the best collection of his works.

I really like some of his paintings, but others, not so much. He was definitely talented and I would love to see more of his collection. How nice that you were able to visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

American Gothic is on display here, so I am off to see that at the end of the month. Pretty sure I have seen some VVG, but can't think of any offhand
