Slash Tires

United States
March 23, 2017 4:20am CST
A car on my street had 2 of their tires slashed. That is a horrible thing & tires aren't cheap. I don't understand why people do such thing. That's a means of transportation for many especially for work/family! Thinking about slashed tires, back when I was in high school - someone attempted to slash my tires in the parking lot. I never knew who the hater was or why? But you can see a knife stab in the tire but they failed to stab further. I never needed to replace the tire since it didn't pierce far enough. However it isn't my problem anymore since I sold the rims and car a few years ago. I did wonder why my car or me.. - Was it because I had my drivers permit at 15 & half and licensed at 16? - Was it because I had my own car? And drove myself to school? And around. - Was it because I recently installed brand new tires & aftermarket rims on my car?

Some insane people or youngsters have no sense that damaging anyone's car is not going to do any good for them. They show their frustration by damaging properties of others. I also face this situation sometimes but I feel helpless.

I always thought that tire slashing was an act of vengeance so I guess someone was maybe jealous of you?

No idea, I hope not - I was just a teenager or could be at random. It was in the parking lot of my school.

My first thought for slashed tires is ex-relationship and an attempt to hurt the person who owns the car. You can never know what people have in their minds when they act like that.

That could be true. I had none in high school though. My exes went to different schools.

@infatuatedbby You never found out? If it was on purpose, I guess that the other person would have told it to someone and eventually you would have found out.

The past few days, someone or perhaps a gang, have been spilling paint remover on some cars. In fact, I've read that the first victims were two new vehicles - a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and a Ford Everest. Many are hoping that these culprits be caught soonest and punished.

@infatuatedbby It's about 2 kilometers or a little more from home but one can never tell when the culprit(s) strike especially that parking space is very limited in the city and you can only find yourself parking in whatever space is available.

@infatuatedbby This is what the Italian police discovered in Italy. The repair auto garages in the area and the tire companies.

I think some people are sick. I can't understand why they will do things like that. As they will not get any benefits from it. If they get caught, they will have a serioius punishment.

Flat on purpose as an act of vandalism is wrong. If we did it ourselves like driving over a nail/pot hole we'd be just as mad, but hopefully it'd be repairable at a cheaper expense.

It is sad people do this! But looks like the car across the street got his tires replaced and parks on the driveway instead of the street now.

It could be possible that after the rammed the knife in they realized that it was the wrong car and moved on to search for the original victim of theirs.

That could be very true also. But I did not hear anyone or see any flat cars. Or maybe they were about to get caught so they stopped.
