I was so happy with my results through AncestryDNA, not only does it give me a breakdown of all the different ethnicities that makeup me, it also matchd me with many family members helping to confirm relationships through DNA, it was nice to prove my work was correct and i connected the right families. It was also cool to see i am 47% Great Britian makes me want to start telling people matter of fact i am almost 50% Brittish despite never going there or know of any relatives whom live there now lol This picture i added is of me and all my ancestors i have photos of

I used the ancestrydna kit myself and will be getting another one done by 23andme eventually. I don't use the full ancestry.com site because I didn't have the best of luck (my first go) trying to find things. I've found more things by using free services though.

@chrissbergstrom I take what I find on familysearch with a pinch of salt ... I've discovered far too many inaccuracies on there.

we all come from some part of Europe in one way or the other - its quite amazing. I actually went to Ireland to see my place of roots - but then I knew where my dad and mom were from, so it was easy - But I am South African Born

I've spent hours tracing my inlaws family tree. No DNA, but I think it's safe to say it would come back as being mostly from the Netherlands. My family tree and my husband both have been traced back to the 1600s.

@chrissbergstrom my grandparents were overseas. I was fortunate to meet a great grandmother and a great grandfather...even though I was only five at the time.

I love to try it. I am sure it cannot retrieve my Asian clans. On the other hand, it is really nice to know the family tree on both biological parents.

I think your DNA result is more British than mine, and I AM British, from a long line of lots of British people! I'm waiting for my Mumsy's results to come back because I need to know if my 16% Irish comes from her. I have no Irish ancestry in my tree to date, but if it isn't from her I could delve more into my grandad's first wife's ancestry and see if my dad's ridiculous suspicions were indeed true!

It's really interesting because i thought for sure i would have alot of Scandinavian but i did not have as much as i thought i would, so it seems i got more from my moms side then my dad's, i do match his relatives that have taken the test to though in fact his aunt is my number two match and she had alot of scandinavian in her results.
