Sleep At A Time Like This

March 24, 2017 2:23am CST
Last night I wanted to start my new transcribing job, but there was only one assignment posted that was suitable for a beginner. Tonight there was a lot. It took forever, but I finallly got through it. I can't use the program they suggested because my key commands do different things on my laptop, so I was stuck going between the website and VLC. Now that I'm finishe I know I should be getting some sleep, but I'm eager to know how I did and whether or not I'll be getting paid in full. Paid in full isn't much, especially for the amount of time it takes a newbie to transcribe without or transcribing program and no pedal, but it's better than getting paid half. My anxiety is keeping me up, and the slow breathing technique I normally use isn't having the sleepy affect that it should. What do you guys do to fall asleep in stressful times? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to wake up before tomorrow nights assignments get posted.

It seems I either don't get enough sleep, or get way too much of it.

That's a very thoughtful suggestion, but I grew up lactose intolerant and even though I can consume dairy now (as long as I've had edible grade diatomacious earth recently) I will never get used to the taste of milk. I tried a cal-mag "sleepy time" mix that my mom used to buy, but more than once it made me wake up in sweats with my anxiety levels out of control. Recently I've been doing transcription work and when I slow down the audio file in VLC Media Player it makes me really tired, so I think I'll that with an old file the next time I can't sleep, lol.

You can try to count sheep or drink hot milk. I got curious. What do you transcribe?

I am sure the next one will go faster. If you make enough money at it are you going to get the program you mentioned? I have a lot of trouble sleeping and staying asleep. I put the TV on very quiet , on an old familiar program and listen with my eyes closed. Somehow, that stops my mind racing and I fall asleep, The TV has a timer and it goes off.

I do that sometimes, but I've seen Firefly far too many times to keep it up. I think I'll switch to Star Trek. I got the program that is recommended but when I press F9 my laptop signs me out. :( I've been looking for another, but have yet to decide on one, or in which manner I'd like to use the one I chose, as there's a couple of different ways with some of them.
