...take care of the sick, assist young minds into achieving their goals as future health care providers, and comfort the distressed when a relative expires in their family. That was my activity this morning. I drove the car to a government agency for the renewal of my license as a nurse. I took the opportunity so that I won't have to earn 60 CPD units which is mandated by the PRC starting this year. From July onwards, we must earn the required units for renewal of our professional licenses. How about you my friends? When will you renew any of your licenses? My driver's license will also expire on my birthday this year.

I've noticed that my identity card expired four months ago. I hardly ever use it so I didn't notice it. I'll renew it next week or so.

I use it all the time to go to Italy, grocery shopping and to see my mother.

@LadyDuck I haven't crossed a border for some time. So there was no problem. But I need to renew the identity card, of course.

@MALUSE We go once a week to the Italian supermarket that is 7 km from here, because the Italian products are a lot less expensive there.

@ridingbet It is the Government ID, it's the only valid document that allow to cross a border without the need to have also a passport.

@LadyDuck our government wants to have a national ID system that should cover almost all government agencies. as of now, i have an ID each in all government agencies, and my professional license also goes with an intravenous therapy card, making me an IV therapist as well.

Our driver license is good for eight years. How long is your driver license good for. Being a nurse is a good job to have. You help a lot of people.

our professiona license is renewable every 3 years, and mine will expire in 2020. the driver's license also has 3 years expiry date. my professional and driver's licenses are usually renewed in the same year before, but i think there is a new law now that driver's licenses are good for 5 years now.

Every 5 years I have to renew my driver's licence. As long as I keep teaching, I don't have to renew my teacher's certificate.

@ridingbet We have to have a Bachelor of Education and teach for two years with a temporary certificate, have a certain number of evaluations from the principal and an outside evaluator to receive a permanent certificate. To keep the certificate we have to continue to teach.

@paigea i think teachers have to have a bachelor's degree, but my son who is a bachelor of arts major in philosophy is now taking Masters of Science in Teaching and that will qualify him to teach.

oh, that is good to know. i think the teachers here in my country have their professional license (LET) because they have to pass a licensure examination.

when you renew, do you have to pass an examination, both written and actual driving?

When I taught school, we had to earn 90 hours of credits within a five year period to retain our teaching certificates. I'm done working.

@DianneN really? the new law about acquiring a certain number of credit units for specific professions for renewal of licenses here is met by some with disgust. take my case- where can i avail of these seminars and colloquia to earn the credit units? maybe when i will renew, God willing, in 2020, no more CPD units to earn.

really, my friend? does the 90 units stay forever for the renewal of license, or are there some additional credit units as years go by?
