Irresistible... Almost

Cupcakes

Yesterday while ambling around Richmond hunting the elusive Crawdaddy Club, I found a shop that was very difficult to ignore. Looking for a non-existent plaque, I found a window full of cupcakes. Not just any cupcakes, but ones that looked really, really tasty. The Hummingbird Bakery, and those little cakes did look light and airy and tasty; in case I forgot to mention that. Luckily I didn't have any real money on me and I was able to deny myself all that extra sugar. Shortly after I found the former club and made my escape from Richmond and temptation. How often do those two words appear in the same sentence!

I think, for me, cupcakes would win out over plaques any day. I can imagine you got side-tracked for a while.

@JudyEv I resisted, goodies like that are too more-ish!

It was an effort to tear myself away from the window!

Maybe you might revisit the bakery and let us know how they taste.

I suspect that if I get within ten miles, I'll make a detour!

We have been in Richmond so many years ago that I am sure I would not even recognize the place. Those cupcakes look delicious.

@Ronrybs I loved this place, an old fashioned style very pleasant.

The shop fronts may have changed, but most of the buildings are the same old ones, so the town still has some character

They do look very inviting and I love the name of the bakery! Yesterday, I made some banana nut muffins and I tend to enjoy those even more than cupcakes. I've promised myself to begin baking just a little bit more so I won't be drooling all over everything as Easter draws near! lol

I made some banana bread a long while ago and was still finding dried up mix weeks afterwards!

What a charming bakery. What is the Crawdaddy club?

It was a music club of the 60s, in the back of the Station Hotel. The claim to fame is that the Rolling Stones played there. It is just one of those little bits of history I like to follow along

You had no 'real' money on you. What kind of money did you have then? Gambling chips?

Oh yes, if I'd had some money on me, then I would have briefly been the proud owner of a cupcake!
