A fight at the supermarket.

I went to the supermarket for a few things and saw a, shall we say, reality show that shocked me. There were 2 women and a man. It seemed that the younger woman was the maid of the two older people. The eldest woman had trouble deciding where to go and the man shouted to the youngest woman to take her and move "this stupid woman" so that she did not get stuck in the middle of the aisle. I was so angry, but I know I could not get involved in a fight that clearly was not mine. Still, I think it is a shame how some men treat women (I suppose the same thing happens the other way around). Would you have said anything?

I commented in a loud voice with Leticia, but the man took no notice of me.

@marguicha he doesn't respect women and that's why he didn't respond to you and Leticia. That's when I would pull out my angry tough woman personna, and give him the same language as if I were a man talking to another man. But that's just me. It goes way back

First of all, how dare he treat his wife and caretaker in that way. Especially, in a public situation where he did it specifically to embarrass them. I have to say that I would have probably said something period I would have tried to give some encouragement to the two women, and I probably would have said something loud enough for the man to hear and the rest of the store managers to hear. I would have done everything I could to point out the wrongs of that whole situation. But I do get involved like that I'm trying to let people know that they do not treat other people that way nor do they have to be treated that way.

I would probably be afraid to say something to avoid making the man more angry and taking out his anger on the two women.

No, if he had hit her or something then I'd do something...even then I'd be wary as I've seen people try and break up domestics and both people turn on them

@akalinus when I worked at a house for teen homeless I tried to break up 3 or 4 serious fights and in every case they both turned on me. I've seen it happen a few times in town too when the police grab the male the female who was being hit starts to hit the police...one time I saw them taser both of them

I once jumped on a man who was physically assaulting his wife. The next thing I knew, she was beating me with her purse. It's best to stay out until INVITED in.

Poor lady. He has no respect for women and hence much less for himself it would seem. I would have run to help her but at the same time I would have been afraid of him hurting her.

I would have had to say something towards him so that he could have heard me. Similar to how you handled the situation. I would not have become directly involved. Some people are just cruel and ignorant. It is sad that people get treated so poorly.

What you saw is just one of most cases, I am opppsed to treating anyone and dealing with any problems by force . For a well educated man or woman , it's unacceptable and unbearable .
