After letting the rockers answer all those who/what/what questions, it's country music's turn. Of course, I don't offer any answers to these questions, just the enjoyment of the songs. Here's the next song on my countdown of favorites from country music with a who/what/why question in the title. #9: Why, Why - Carl Smith And the Jim Reeves song replied, "Don't Ask Me Why." For you trivia buffs, Carl Smith was "Mr. June Carter" long before Johnny Cash was! They were married in the 1950s, and Carlene Carter is their daughter. This song is my ringtone on my phone for my dad. That way, I know it's him before I even pick the phone up. Carl Smith was, and remains, my dad's favorite singer. I got Dad the Bear Family box set on Carl Smith for his birthday about 14 years ago (then promptly borrowed it! ). And here Smith showed that he could have easily gone the rockabilly route with this upbeat, fun love song. Nothing deep and philosophical here (let the philosophers answer the question in the title, this is just country music!), just a good song from a good singer about a good love. Why, Why Written by Mel Tillis and Wayne Walker Recorded by Carl Smith Released as a single, 1957 I still have the 45...don't think it plays, though, and "Emotions" was the B-side. You're welcome
NENÍ to Hank Williams. Automat jej chybne priradil. Hraje a zpívá Carl Smith.
