For as long as I have been alive my Mom has had a chihuahua, Our first family dog that i remember was named Pluto he just so happened to be the same age as me, as a kid he really did not like me, but i remember as he got older he was more comfortable with me knowing i would never hurt him, and that i would keep him safe. My mom had Pluto for 19 years, one of the more funny memories i have of Pluto is when my brother TR ran away from home one day Pluto followed him the whole way i think he wanted to make sure TR was safe, anyway my mom saw them and picked them up. Another time I remember riding in the back of our friend Brian's truck and Pluto following us, i think in his own way he was very protective of me even if as a kid i did not think he liked me, he often nipped peoples pant legs, or constantly barked at strangers, but he was a good dog, it was so sad when we lost him, he was like one of my mom's kids..... that is why a few years after he passed me and my sister split up are money and bought are mom another dog Peanut whom we still have today he is 12.... he loves me and is so different then Pluto, but alot alike in many ways..... Here is a photo of Pluto, Me, and our cat Jasmine

I think my golden retriever will live more than 10 years. He seems so weak and his strength deteriorates lately.

Lovely photo! .. and it's amazing how small dogs live much longer than big dogs ... I also know a friend whose pet chihuahua lived for nearly 21 years .. it's a record .. I've never heard of any dog that lived that long..

We had a dog in the past and he was a big size dog. Usually the big size dog's life is about 10 years old. And so did our dog. I must say I still miss him sometimes today. Perhaps this is why I cried so badly when I watched the movie A Dog's Purpose.
