Ranting Over a Person: Ugly Inside and Out!!!

It is past midnight here. I am the only one who is alive and kicking. I can’t sleep because a student of mine had given me a nosebleed experience (literally said). It wasn’t a big deal but my patience parameter went low with this particular student.lol I am used to this kind situation being an online English teacher.
This student booked my classes for a couple of times and keeps on giving a low evaluation. But this time, I need to stop her booking my classes. It really affects my performance and if the evaluation score is too low, the other students will not able to see me in the system. That’s my concern and not her being ugly inside and out. The course of action is to confront her before proceeding the class. I gave my evaluation and point out that I am a teacher; it means I am not a magician to let her learn English language in just one session.lol

@Shavkat
Does she get to be awkward? Just wondered that.
If she is awkward that way she cannot learn anything at all.
She is not willing to back down and listen by the sound of it.

@lovinangelsinstead21 All I can say, she is showing a double-face persona. She is so over confident. Don't worry, my friend! She will never book my classes anymore.

Why does she keep joining and giving you poor evaluations. The course takes time not one session and someone will be fluent.

@Shavkat Yes, but hopefully you have a lot of good feedback and that one bad one won't be a harm.

@infatuatedbby Good thing, it was not affected. If I am going to describe it, she is the rotten tomato in the basket and needs to get rid off. My evaluation is still at a higher rate. She got 1% of the total performance for the day.

@besweet The company doesn't have this option. Their god is the students. lol Even if the teachers complain about some nasty student, they don't care. It matters is that the students pay us. For me, I should stand in my own grounds that I need to be respected.

that is weird. how can she rate you low when she herself finds in hard to understand your lessons, or learning English the easier way? i don't think it is your fault if she cannot learn English. she has an IQ so low, lower than the baseline imbecile, idiot, or moron. poor comprehension. we cannot do anything about students like this, we cannot exchange our brains to them, right|?

@ridingbet I definitely will not stoop down, my friend. It is only for the lesson part. I mean the wavelength of the ability to learn.

Where's she's from? Maybe she's not paying attention to your class at all or maybe she's just distracted.

@diosabella That's what makes no sense at all. She keeps on booking my classes. I pity her and a hopeless case.

@Shavkat Your student maybe a nut case. I mean why would she booked you several times if she can't learn from you at all. She's in denial big time. Or maybe she's a stalker.

That's so bad. As I think students who wants to have online courses will be good students. If she doesn't want to study online, who she has to book the online class? It is just a kind of wasting money and time. I also wonder why her parents didn't care about her study. I don't mean that they have to stay with her all the time when she has the online courses. But at least they shall sometimes check it. Is the online class helpful for her? Why she gave a low evaluation? Perhaps they just pay for the money but don't care about the rest. Perhaps this is why their child will behave like that.

@Shavkat I am surprised to hear that because she has such kind of stupid behaviors even if she is an adult. I thought she was just a young girl. Anway, I think it is just a black sheep and it can't represent all the Chinese students. Actually many of us still study hard.

Actually, she is not a young kid. The student is an adult Chinese student who cannot pronounce English words well. It is acceptable because she is a non-native speaker. I was trying to correct the proper pronunciation but she is denial state. I must admit that she cannot get it despite having drills.
I am sorry, my friend. She is from your country. I also asked suggestions from her on how to teach her. It was carried out during the class just to satisfy her. But still, she gave me a low evaluation after the class. I don't have the power to cancel her classes with me. Confrontation is the best way to manage this situation. I am a frank person and show my true colors in interacting people. The sad part, she showed deception during the classes. Hopefully, she will not book my classes.

@allknowing I love to, my friend. I don't have the power to block her. It is being controlled by the company's platform. Unfair in the sense that students can cancel the classes. I have an option by being absent to particular classes but my salary will be deducted.

So she rated you poorly, just because she can't learn immediately. That's unfair, because it means she's a poor student if after two or 3 sessions she still won't be able to retain her in her brain.
You did what was right. She deserved that.

I feel so happy with that confrontation. I can sense that she will give me a low evaluation again at that time. It is becoming habitual. So I just gave her a full-blown constructive criticism. I hope she understood my point and not to book another class with me.

One destructive student can affect your confidence and your perception of teaching as a whole.

@asfarasiknow It is a good thing that not all students are like this. If ever, I really cannot handle the stress. It is better to stop working in the company.

@Shavkat Fortunately those types of really awkward students should be a very small minority. I taught evening classes part time for 7 years and only really had a couple of students that I would never want to teach again.

This is the 2nd time there was a student teacher problem. Have you encountered that student before? Maybe the student knows you from somewhere else and wants to cause you trouble so gives you low evaluations.
I am sorry Shavkat that that happened. Aside from that student how is online teaching going?

Poor you. I have my sympathy with you. I also worked as a professor and interacted so many students. Some actually have that kind of mindset. They don't want teachers they actually want magician and sometimes they show as if we were on sale and they paid... Painfull it is. There was a time when this was the most decent job where we actually get respect but these days the mind set has changed.

I am sorry to hear this happened to you now. Its terrible when one student blames the teacher and the student thought they could learn a languge like English really fast. English is a hard language.

In fact she must put in her efforts too. It's very bad of her to give you a low rating. Learning a new language is not easy and she must put in her efforts too. Everything does not solely rely on the instructor. And if she finds you to be such a bad teacher why does she repeatedly book classes with you. So weird. I hope she has learnt her lesson and you won't have her as your student again
