Quick Meal Suggestions

What is the quickest thing that you like to cook for yourself or others? I can cook well, but I am such a slow cooker that I dread the thought of cooking for a group of people. I am always trying to make sure that everything is just right. Can anyone suggest a quick meal that I can prepare for guests?

That's true, my deal with spaghetti is that I am always looking for something special to add. I never really want to just make something that anyone could get from anywhere.

I use meat that I can make in advance in the oven and serve as cold cuts. Even if the meat is expensive, you can cut the meat thin if it is cold. Stews can be interesting and you can use meat that is not so expensive. It all depends on the amount of guests you are having.

A stew is pretty good, I think that I would like to do that with a sirloin stew and try to make shepherd pie with it. Just my guess.

If I need to make a fast and delicious Chinese dish, it may be the fried sliced potato. My son likes eating it a lot. And meanwhile I can make the Cola chicken wings. It is fast and delicious. As to the soup, the hot and sour soup will be a good choice.

I rarely have guests but I used to use my slow cooker when I was expecting people for dinner. I would put in a roast--of course, no one can afford a roast anymore. I shopped for one last week and the kind I used to get was nearly $20!! You could go with tacos, either chicken or beef, that is quick--a taco or burrito bar is quick and easy. Spaghetti is quick and cheap. If you want something really yummy and have a slow cooker, cut up some keilbasa, about half an onion, and an apple and throw it in. Add a bit of applesauce for liquid and cook on low for about 6 hours. Serve over noodles or rice. Convenient, cheap, and the flavor combination is superb.
