Diary Sunday 26th March 2017

A day of sunshine, chores and frustrations. My landlady is visiting from Manchester on Friday and with being on a course from Monday to Thursday today was my only real chance to tidy the flat. It was a quick easy job until vacuuming, when I realized my hoover wasn’t picking up the detritus. I realized its plastic case was full, and never expected it to be so tough to disengage, empty and re-attach. I felt as if I needed an engineering degree but by trial and error I finally got the vacuuming completed. As it is Mother’s Day I rang my Mum to check she got her card OK. She did. She told me that an old family friend I had met a few times has died, very sad. I knew he was suffering from cancer. I put the clocks forward an hour last night as it is the start of British Summer Time today, so lighter mornings, yay! I hit on the idea of selling some old books on Amazon only to find that to do so I have to prove my European status through either my passport details or driving license – I have neither. I tried making a few Youtubes on my old tablet camcorder but I couldn’t get the volume working. I transferred them to my main laptop where they worked ok, but I was too tired to edit them further tonight. Grrr . Tomorrow I start the stupid mandatory attendance course in call centre work. I’m not looking forward to that at all. Arthur Chappell

Will they not let you use your ID for that? Surely you have a ID?

I did not know about this odd request of Amazon, I do not have a passport and I do not drive, my ID proves my European status.

Don't the clocks going forward mean the mornings are darker and the evenings lighter?! Glad you got your vacuuming done!

I didn't know you had to jump through those sorts of hoops nowadays to sell on amazon.

A fair amount of frustration at your place it seems. Best wishes for the course - you might need it.
