It's balcony seats from now on for us..

Last year we went to see The Phantom of the Opera. We got lower level seats, and the view was horrible. We couldn't see through the people in front of us, we had to crane our necks, probably blocking the view of the people behind us. Today we went to see Wicked. We brought my 9 and 10 year old sons, as well as my 14 year old son. Knowing that I"d have the smaller boys with me, I picked seats in the 2nd row of the balcony. I figured that would mean the boys only had to try to see through one row of heads and should have a decent view.. What I didn't count on was how the upper level seats are more tiered than the lower level. Even if an extremely tall person sat in front of you, you'd still be able to see over their head! Also, I think our balcony seats were even closer to the stage than our seats last year for Phantom. They were absolutely incredible. The show was incredible! Wicked is my favorite musical, and today's show was not a disappointment. Having great seats made it all the better! Where do you prefer to sit when you go to a show?

I don't think there was a bad seat in the whole balcony area! I'm definitely getting balcony seats from now on.

To be honest with you, we live in a very rural community and there isn't an opportunity to go to the theatre unless you leave town. We have done that and when we do we prefer the balcony seats.

We certainly groan inwardly if we get someone tall sitting in front. The seats in our theatre are tiered quite well so it's not usually a problem.

The orchestra seats for this theater are not really tiered too well, but as I said, I feel like the first few rows of the balcony are even closer than most of the orchestra seats, so we were quite happy!
