Apparently I'm a DINK

I was at a gathering this afternoon and talking to a friend. He was telling me how much he liked my convertible sports car. I said, "hey, why not? no kids. No car seats." He said that he understood as he and his wife were in the same situation and as soon as they finished paying off student loans he wanted to get a similar car. He said that a coworker called him a "DINK". I said that I didn't get it, so he explained that it stood for "double income no kids". Yup, that's my husband and I! I'm happy to be a DINK or part of a DINK or whatever it is. We have good jobs and make a very good combined salary. We have a fair amount of disposable income that allows us to do fun things like go out go lunch or dinner, go on vacation, go to an expensive gym several times a week, etc. If we had children, our lifestyle would be very much changed and neither of us would be happy about that.

Better being a "DINK" than being in "DEBT."
