Denver Broncos have no "intent" to pursue Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has no "intent" to pursue Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo even if he released by the team. Elway will be content to have Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch battle it out during training camp to see who will be the starting quarterback of the Broncos in 2017. My belief is that Elway is fearful that if Romo joins the Broncos, he could suffer an injury if he gets tackled by a defensive player that will sideline him for a long period of time and Elway does not want to deal with that scenario.

Romo may decide to retire and take the TV job at this rate.

If I were Tony I would retire sighting health reasons.

I think he should retire; however, understand that he wants to play for Houston Texans. The television job certainly is a great choice.

I thought maybe he said that so Dallas would think interest in Romo had waned so they'd finally release him. Certainly no one is giving up draft picks, although maybe they can sucker one out of Houston.

It could happen since Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones are working together again and the New Orleans Saints were fooled by the Cowboys when the Saints gave up draft picks to get quarterback Steve Walsh who bombed as a quarterback with the Saints in the early 1990s.
