Why is water wet?

a kid asked me this question why water is wet? how will you answer to this question? my answer is if water will not be wet it will be thick.... and then you wont be able to drink.

Well according to chemistry...water is wet because of the “Strong tetrahedral hydrogen bonding"...as simple as that
