When blogging was a trend

I started blogging in 2006, it was a trend then. I thought that everyone with internet access had a go at blogging. Well, after reading a lot of blogs, I was inspired. I thought that it was a time to showcase my photographic efforts too, as my photos were just idle on my PC. So I blogged. Not only 1 but I created 3 blogs. That was pretty ambitious, I know. I wrote profusely, then suddenly, I stopped. I was distracted by Yahoo 360, Bubblews, Multiply, Facebook, and now, MyLot! I have also joined other platforms which are now defunct. Here's a sample of my blog post. Did you blog too? What did you write about? Are you still blogging? aside from MyLot of course. http://plantshomesgardens.blogspot.com.au/2006/04/apart-from-people-i-love-everything.html

In 2005 I started writing fan fiction. It pretty well took up my writing time as I experimented with story creation and worked on style. In 2008 I started a blog but I didn't like trying to keep it up, so I stopped. I joined Helium that year and tried to make money that way. I wanted to publish a book but had too many doubts to get started. I wish I had more strength of character back then. That would have been a great time to start writing ebooks.

You're a real writer. My hubby who isn't even a writer, put his ideas on pen and paper. He published his work as an ebook on Amazon. It was free to publish there. All the best.

@vickyrose I've been publishing on Amazon since December. Like I said, I wished I started back in 2008, but at least I've gotten started. Currently I have 27 short stories out. I have 182 in my writing folder that I'm still working on. I may not have published until now, but I have been writing at least.

@OneOfMany That's really good! Now, you are inspiring me. I am starting on a Memoir of sorts, but doing my research. I would like to publish my book too, but I have problem with time. Too distracted about a lot of things online and offline. You are a prolific writer. Are you more of a creative writer?

First it was a trend, now it's a hobby for someone and an interesting income for others. I never had a blog, just participated on some sites writing articles, summaries, translations, and so on. But, I still want to start my own blog. At the moment, I am working on that.

@vickyrose It's never too late to restart. Personally, I never was a fan of Facebook.

Oh, sorry to hear that you rarely find a time for your blog. The opposite happens with me. I have been so engrossed with my blog that I show up rarely in here. By the way my blog is about random things.

It's just the time constraint. I have found work recently, so I can't spend a lot of it online. I should try to manage my time better. I blog mostly on my travels and gardens.

I don't blog. I don't have the patience making one. I just love sharing my experiences through sites like this and Bubblews.

I don't have time to visit your blog at the moment. I have a blog too but have stuffed up the password - now I can't get there at all.

I know that you are in the middle of adventure, Judy. Re. your blog, I'm sure that you are still able to read it online but not to do anything about it. Your web host may email you to reset your password.

I thought about it as I always had the urge to write, but I could imagine writing and then finding that no-one would stumble across it among all the millions or even billions of web-sites out there. And it was hard to think of a unifying theme as I like to rabbit on about a variety of subjects. Then I found Bubblews and now MyLot so I guess that gives me an outlet and I no longer bother about it so much. People have told me that I should write a work blog too, since the regular addition of new content would increase my appeal to the search engines, but it's hard to think of new things to write about all the time since people keep making the same old mistakes!
