It feels like I have not had a chance to read and comment on posts in weeks . . . I have been busy - sewing, birthdays, grandchildren, cleaning, bowling, travel and movies.
However I have a short break in my schedule before I head off to Bowls again this afternoon . . . I shall call it INTERMISSION because once the break is over, its back to my busy plans of procedures!
Why I decided on the word "intermission" is when watching the Sunday movie, the best musical drama ever "The Sound of Music" - Not sure what the scene was but it ends with the music Climb every mountain. Followed in Big Black print on the movie screen the words 'INTERMISSION'.
Well my daughter was amused, she wanted to know why any movie had an intermission in the yonder days . . . clearly she has never sat in a Cinema for over 2 hours without needing a break! (toilet break mostly) The new movies never reach that kind of length.
How many long movies have you seen?
I know that Gone with the Wind is one of them, Ben Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, Pepe, and I remember Gandhi as well.
All very entertaining and never boring!
I love theater, movies and anything entertaining . . it transforms me into a magical world of imagination . . . .
My photo is of the Antwerp Theater, a place I visited a long time ago.
Intermission is over - Hi Ho, Hi Ho its back to work I go . . . .

I vaguely remember seeing something with an intermission, I know plays have them, and I am always glad for the chance to stretch

even the long movies, though, don't do intermissions anymore. perhaps back then they thought people wouldn't get up in the middle like they do nowadays...

I well remember the intermission but good luck getting to use the bathroom during that time and back to your seat. I use the intermission to stand and stretch, people watch and adjust clothing when I see a live play. I haven't seen a movie with an intermission for quite some time but have seen many that you and Anna mentioned.
