Mildred the Cat - feeling crazy tonight!

Howdy everybody. How ya all doin'? I'm doing great! I must admit to napping a lot lately and being really lazy. I'm blaming it on the gloomy, cold, nasty, windy weather we've been having. That's what my mom told me the other day when I caught her napping. I don't think my mom should nap. What if I needed something? Anyhoo, I just woke up from an after-dinner nap, stretched my legs and then took off on a high-speed run around the house, up and down the stairs, over the couch and chairs, in and out of several rooms. My mom calls these antics the cat crazies. I used to go cat crazy all the time when younger. I still do but not quite as often. I'm sure my dear young friend, Huckleberry the Cat, knows exactly what I'm talking about. I love the crazies. I especially love the way the house looks after I'm done. Chairs are moved, knickknacks askew, doilies are tossed, rugs are scattered. I guess that's why they call them scatter rugs! My toys are everywhere. Such fun! While my mom tidies up the place, I thought I'd grab the laptop and write a quick hello to everyone. Till next time, purrs, paws and high fives. Luv, Mildred the Cat Image: Me on the kitchen table

Dear Auntie Mildred the Cat, Oh, yes, I do know the crazies well. Crazy time comes like clock work at my house twice a day, and they are such fun! Morning crazy time starts a few minutes before my mama wants to wake up and lasts through breakfast, but can reoccur at intervals anytime up until nap time at noon. After I wake up from my nap, at about 10 or 11 p.m., it starts all over and lasts until after my mama wants to go to bed. You'd best stay away from my race track during crazy time, or you could get seriously hurt. I especially like going vertical on the curves, and Mama says that's one of the reasons she keeps the "good" furniture covered with heavy blankets or quilts that can survive my claws. Anyway, Mama gets up a lot earlier in the morning now that she used to. Must go. It's almost crazy time. Love, Huckleberry the Crazy, Crazy Kittycat

Dear Huckie the Clock Work Crazy Cat- sounds like you keep your mama busy. Exercise is good even for humans, so you're really doing her a favor. We have all kinds of blankets and quilts on our furniture too. Why have the furniture if you can't see it half the time? Chicken treats and toys and comfortable napping areas are all I really need.

@LindaCPearson Dear Auntie Mildred the Cat, As a part-time custom window treatment redesigner, I do have an appreciation for design. I like the good furniture quite fine, and I think orange and white cat hair complements the design. It just lacks texture, which I could add with my claws in just a few seconds. I don't know why my mama keeps it covered. Love, Huck the Crazy, Crazy Kittycat

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled Dearest Huckie Buckie - I'm sure you're quite the expert "design redesigner!" I checked with my mom about why your mama covers the furniture. She said most likely it's because she doesn't want it ripped to shreds. Your mama probably remembers several years ago when my mom had to trash all our wicker furniture after my "redesigning" efforts. Humans can get real picky about their possessions sometimes. Luv, Auntie Mildred.

Hello Mildred, do you help your Mom to put everything back in place when you are finished? Huumm, I guess not.

@LindaCPearson I think you are right, the black kitten of my neighbor jumped on my kitchen sink to help, but it was better she stayed out of the way.

Hi Anna. Much as I'd like to help, I find it's better if I just stay out of the way and let her do it.

So you do have a companion? If your owner is going to have cats she just needs to get used to your ways. Wait until you do this in the middle of the night. LOL

I don't have a pet companion, just lonely little me. My mom is my only companion and my service provider and I do keep her mighty busy!

I'll bet that drives your mom crazy. You're lucky she tolerated those antics. Have a great day.

My mom does say sometimes that she is going crazy. I guess I should try to tone it down a bit! You have a great day as well!

Hi Patches. It's Mildred. My mom deep down knows I'm in charge but sometimes she forgets a little and I find it necessary to remind her.

I had a cat who'd go for round 2 if you straightened too soon after the first cat fit, lol

And after the crazies, you probably feel a bit tuckered out and perhaps time for another snooze.

Good to here from you again Mildred. You sound like my Sophie but she has fewer rooms as we live in a small apartment. She does her best in running in and out of the rooms like speedy gonzales. She loves to go out on our porch. I open the door and put our thing up so she can go out when the weather is nice. Pretty soon winter and the rain will come and I do not want her out there getting wet and sick. Maybe I should let Sophie write to you sometime and you can share secrets.
