The semester will be over and I will surely miss my students. I already told them that I will always remember them as being lousy and talkative hehehe. They giggled and howled much. They do not know that many will flunk this semester because of the sudden passing rate in our university from 50% to 70 % passing hard to achieve. This is so because the passing percentage of all board board takers/ passers declined, so the university president got disappointed. In fact, I have one section that no one passed , no thesis, no projects. No matter how I taught them. They are busy with other matters like bonding, watching a movie, strolling, selfie name it and had done it. Sorry guys if you will never reach a passing score. Even my student-neighbor can never pass. His presence was invisible during the attractive days, now is the time to regret and too very late. I told him enroll the subject next time if he is ready to change his study attitude and habit. Thanks for reading and congrats those whose redemption reach heaven. You deserved the fruit of your labor. Take care all. By the way,the sun is so friendly this afternoon , so no walking in flood with my sexy and boneless boots. Image shot by me

@sunrisefan The students in our university are not afraid of the failing grade for passing grades here are hard to get. Some of those graduates yesterday finished their 4 year course in six years and 5 year course 7. The more this time because of the 70% passing percentage rate. The new name of our university was launched last Monday and Tuesday. It is now from Mindanao University of Science and technology (MUST) now University of Science and technology of Southern Philippines (USTP). You may goggle search this univ. Thanks.

I hope next time your students realize how important it is to have good grades. Out of this world there are too many competitions and one of their arms is their transcript.

@cacay1 Thats too bad. I think most Universities are making that changes. In my alma mater they changed it to 70% after I graduated in 2012. My friends who hasn't graduated yet complained that its so hard to pass and this comes from studious students. 70% is really high.

I pity their parents, being a parent now I already know how tough and hard it is to see to it that your children stays in school and graduates. They would still look like that, I mean like zombies when they find out they failed minus the smile I can just imagine.

It is so sad to know that students now are not dedicated to their studies. They just ignore the lessons and focus on other things which are not so important. Students nowadays are really different. Professors here in our college have the same problem too. More than one half or almost all of the students in a class get a failing grade. That is because of absence or tardiness, failed exams, inactive in discussions and giving no importance to their studies. They just waste money and time.

I don't know what to say. Perhaps it is still a good thing that they are happy and positive even if they failed the study. Here due to the high study pressure, a few students will do something stupidly if they do not pass the exams. Sometimes the failure is OK as long as we can learn a lesson from it. I hope your students will do it better in the future.

@Letranknight2015, yeah hehehe , and you know what that same student is under me in new subject this sem and still he failed hehehe. In fact he is graduating but he cannot graduate,His prelim 65, midterm 65m semi no entries and only in final with some class standing but he cannot reach the 70% passing percentage rate.He has no sense of responsibility as a graduating student. I have learned he did not have thesis paper, and he failed in 4 subjects, he cannot graduate and he is now over staying, 6byears of his 4 year course. These students are Chemical Engineering students 2nd year college. They will be 3rd this June.

My daughter teaches first year classes in a University here in Canad, the kids coming out of high school haven't a clue and it drive my daughter batty. She says when she was a first year student at least she knew what a library was, some coming from high school don't even know that...so sad the quality of high school is failing to teach them how to learn.

@PainsOnSlate , There are so many influences of the many students this time, in fact some were caught Goggle search during the departmental exam, answers thrown to them from friends thru their gadget and a teacher cannot catch one for there are more or less 45 students here i our university. They also do not like to bring their brooks they just get a shot what books say, my goodness what kind of life they would have someday. That is why we are so thankful of the new grade passing rate 70 % many will be shocked when see their grades on line.
