I get to work and get handed this envelope winning $25 VISA gift card. So Iam setting it aside in case I need the money or groceries.

That's what I would do, too. Be careful, though, that you don't let it expire. My DIL gets gift cards at her birthday and Christmas and she always loses them or forgets about them until they're expired. She's missed out on so much good stuff!
