Why do toddlers have a fascination for all the dangerous things?

I wonder how come toddlers have this super ability to find out all the dangerous things in the household and outside as well. Be it power sockets, jumping on the sofa, running on the dining table and the bed, sliding on the stairs, throwing water on the floor and then running, finding all the restricted items from the drawer, climbing on the window and so on, they do everything. My 22 month old son loves to put his fingers inside the power sockets, thanks to the safety covers that I got from an online store, now this problem is resolved till he learns to remove it. Recently he has developed an affinity towards the fish aquarium. He keeps on pulling the iron stand on which the fish aquarium rests. I don't know what I am going to do this time. God help me.

No matter how much attention you pay, toddlers always find a way to touch dangerous things. Keep an eye on him.

Yep I do. I am just praying this phase to pass on quickly so that I can sit back and relax a little.

@Blushandglow I hope you can relax soon. I was a quiet baby, while my younger brother had been a terrible kid.

You do not notice when they go for safe things which I am sure they do.

May be. But that's something very rare in my case. My boy is always looking for trouble

I think curiosity makes them do it. We just need to closely guide them.

Yes I think the same. But you know what, how many times I tell him that it's dangerous to put his fingers inside the power sockets, he will do it just to tease me.
