Popping in to Say a Quick Hello

Some of you may have not seen my I Love You discussion, since I've returned to find dozens of messages asking me if I left myLot. Instead of catching up on my notifications, I've been messaging you back.
I haven't left MyLot. My husband and I have been busy socializing with friends both day and night, every single day. We have been enjoying our beautiful Florida weather, visiting with Orville the osprey, packing, and closing up our condo bit by bit. Neither of us have had much down time, but we've been having lots of fun.
The photo is a pelican that I saw on a walk with my friend. I sat three feet from it. I've since learned that they don't bite and are very gentle. I wish I had petted it.
I shall return to myLot asap. Now I must pack a box to ship home tomorrow, meet friends at the pool, and get together with three couples this evening for drinks and out to a goodbye dinner.

Love the photo and they are very friendly, maybe next winter we will get to florida to hang out with the pelicans.

yes, i remember that post (sorry i wasn't able to respond to it), i'm surprised it was interpreted that way. it's good to squeeze as much activity as you can before you leave. don't forget to rest, though!
i thought pelicans were white - yeah, based on watching old cartoons growing up! nice to know they're docile because i've read/learned about birds and waterfowl that aren't from posts here. hope you see a pelican again.

At a small nearby zoo we had a white pelican. He used to follow people around. At that time I had a step grandson who was about the same height as this pelican, and the bird followed the boy into a viewing tunnel. and it was a little alarming. Since then they have added a second pelican, so this guy never follows people as closely anymore. I think he was lonely and curious. Have lots of fun, enjoy all your experiences and pack them up to bring back as memories.

That would have frightened me if a pelican followed my grandkids around. Glad your step grandson wasn't harmed. I don't know much about Pelicans at all. I watched them fish everyday, but my heart and interest lies with Orville, the osprey and his family. Lol! And here I am home, busy settling in.

Well I hope you enjoy your last days in Florida and visiting with friends and the sunshine. I haven't been on mylot a whole lot either mostly on weekends or during the week if I have no plans so i know how you feel. Hope you have a great day and a great week.

I wish you weren't heading back up north, but totally understand the need to go back. Plus, our weather is starting to turn hot, so who wants to be around when it feels like the surface of the sun! haha

@moffittjc I needed a pool today, Drat! It was 88 in the sun here today! Even Doodles the cat stayed in the shade. There is nothing like a pool!

I lived at a lake with lots of pelicans but never got so close to one.
