Well here I go again. I just can't help myself, I have to do it. Yep, even Ally agrees that I should do it. It's about dog food, I am sharing some information about the worst foods you could possibly feed your dog. I got the link from one of the pet rescue sites that posts useful information. For fear of breaking rules I can only say that a name in the site is "Buster" but I dare not use their link in any other way because I am not trying to get you to part with your money. Honest, I'm not. Anyway, Ally and I thought it important to share this information about dry dog food with you, it's a list of the 20 worst brands to feed your dog and why. If you are interested click on the link. Oh, I do hope what you feed your dog is a good quality brand, there are a few good ones out there. So, how many pets do you have? Do you have both dogs and cats? Or perhaps you have sheep or horses? I'll bet they get to graze on clean grass.

Thanks for sharing. We make our own dog food (g'parents did it too and many of our ideas were inspired by them) and use a small amount of very expensive kibble too. People really have a right to know how terrible many of these products are.

Is it very expensive to make their food? I'm thinking I'd like to give that a try since Blue Buffalo is expensive and if I have to cook for myself I might as well make it a fumily affair, right?

I haven't seen them on any of the lists for bad foods @PatZAnthony plus, purina is not known for making quality food so I personally do not hold what they may say as true. Home made is better every time though.

@rebelann No Blue Buffalo for us ever again. They were called out by Purina...remember that mess? Will message you some details (I shared this on Bubblews, but here can't give recipe).

I have one dog and he eats homemade dog food mixed with Blue dry food. I obtained the dog food recipes from his vet.

You are lucky, most of the vets I've asked about what kinds of food to give my pup recommended Science Diet or Iams, with this list in mind I doubt they'd have a clue what really is good for my baby.

Boy are you lucky @HazySue I've run into so many here that are only interested in pushing pills or Iams or Science Diet, they have huge student loans to repay.

@rebelann he is an excellent vet. We have used him for three of our dogs. He's always willing to help.

Our dog food wasn't on the list of 20 worst or 20 best, but it faired well when we compared the ingredient list on the bag to those of the 20 best. We have dogs and cats. Two dogs, a mini-Schnauzer and a Brittany. One indoor cat, an orange tiger cat now 15 years old. Two cats who live on our front porch, a gray tiger and a light gray tortoise shell.

Yeah, I was relieved mine wasn't on the list. My mom's orange tabby is 17, he now resides with me. Is your orange tiger large?

I don't have pets, raising my sons was enough for me, but I think all creatures should have good food.

Yes, we should all get good food. I've heard raising boys can be a challenge, is that true?

@rebelann Yes it is, never having raised a girl I can't say which gender is harder, but my boys were pretty good kids, I got lucky.

Very kind of you to post this information and alert pet owners. I sure wish there were tougher regulations about manufacturing and selling pet foods.

Oh shoot, I got off topic ..... again, it's an age thing @lindacpearson and sometimes I forget what my discussions were about since I'm rarely smart enough to read what I wrote But still, it would be nice if more pet owners were caring enough to complain to these companies or just stop buying their crap.

I have 1 standard chihuahua and 6 german shepherds. :D I love them so so so much. I normally give them b-pro food. Coupled with their daily doze of vitamins :D

I don't have any dogs anymore of my own, my last one passed at age 17 a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for sharing this, there is some awful food out there and people just don't take the time to read the labels. Animal digest is the worst! It is often made of euthanized shelter animals, turning your dog into a cannibal involuntarily. And who knows what diseases some of those animals could have and pass on?! I have done without food myself in past years rather than buy Ol' Roy for my dogs. They should just put a skull and crossbones on the package and have done with it.

My condolences, I know how hard it is when they pass, like losing a child or parent I imagine. I couldn't agree with you more. I've been feeding my furmily Blue Buffalo, which wasn't on that list thankfully but now I'm hoping I can afford to make their food myself, hopefully Pat Anthony can teach me.
