Off and Running, Even Though I Want to Move at a Snail's Pace Today

Wicked windy and rainy weather today. We are waiting on a visit from my granddaughter's court appointed guardian ad litem. She will be here at 10 this morning. Have to get the granddaughter dressed and myself too. She had a rough night last night. Woke crying at about 1:00 and said "take me." I held her close for a few minutes and she stopped crying, but needed to be held close and didn't want to be put down. So, we headed to the couch/recliner for the remainder of the night. She obviously was feeling some separation anxiety and needed my closeness. Yeah, I am not fully rested today, but will put the smile on and get through the day. All I need to do is look at this little one and she brings a smile to my weary face. Hope everyone has a great day. Remember, April Showers Bring May Flowers.

She does have a difficult time after her mom and/or aunt visits her. I am glad to have my daughters here to visit, but the little one has a hard time when they leave. Hoping that they visit more often so she will see they are still present in her little world.

@Happy2BeMe I am trying to convince my oldest daughter to come by on the weekends. She cries when she has to leave her. They were very close. Her mother will soon be going to rehab and won't be seeing her for a while.

She may have had a bad dream. She is also teething so that may have contributed to her problem. I do try to relax while she is napping. Seldom do I nap anymore. I need to attend to the housework while she naps.

@LadyDuck I tried to nap today and couldn't even close my eyes. I guess I have way too much on my mind.

@ElusiveButterfly It's a good idea to nap while she is napping, you need to recover.

I will suggest a weighted blanket, it might help her sleep and feel safer. Can't remember, can you sew? You can make your own of those, I know they can be costly

She actually doesn't like having anything on her that is too heavy. She kicks, thrashes, and tosses the covers aside. She does wear a blanket sleeper that keeps her nice and toasty.

@Jessicalynnt even a light blanket is kicked off. I make sure she has warm jammies on so she won't catch a chill.

@ElusiveButterfly Unfortunately many children pay for the parents mistakes. I do hope she is able to get herself together.

Things are going well Courtney. Just have to find a daycare that will take her. Not as easy as I thought it would be.

Your granddaughter is lucky to have such patience and loving grandparents-not all possess that, and it sounds like she really needs it right now. I'll keep you all in my prayers, for continued patience and lots and lots of loving. I remember when my sister-in-law left my brother, their youngest wasn't quite 2 years old, and one day about a year later, I had her in the back of my car in her carseat and she asked me if I hated her Mommie like Gramma did. I did not know what to say, but I asked her if she loved her uncle's puppy, and she told me she did, so I asked her if she liked its actions when it would nip at her pantlegs when she ran around playing, and no she did not. So I explained to her that I loved her Mommie but disliked her actions. It seemed to settle her and today, she is almost 15, and she has told me numerous times how she trusted me because I don't hate.

I always say I love the person, but don't like the things they do. There is only one person that I truly despise. Even the mentioning of his name brings me anxiety.

I'm sure she was comforted being held by you and although you are probably very tired today she is probably full of energy. Hope your appointment goes well and maybe you can sneak in a nap?

When she falls asleep on my shoulder I often nod off for a few minutes. But when I wake I am stiff as a board.
