Here's another one of those great songwriting teams who gave us so many classics in the world of music. This one might be a left-field entry, but how could I avoid this entry once you see all the songs they wrote? Here they are. #8: Brian Holland/Lamont Dozier/Eddie Holland Stop! In the name of love if you don't agree! Can I get a witness, baby love? And those three songs are just for starters. Unquestionably one of the most prolific songwriting teams in music history -- not just R&B or pop. Yes, their initial splash may have been in the R&B field, but everybody covered a Holland/Dozier/Holland song. Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, the Doobie Brothers, even The Who have done Holland/Dozier/Holland songs. There's something for everyone to love somewhere in there. Holland/Dozier/Holland Brian Holland: born February 15, 1941, Detroit, MI Lamont Herbert Dozier: born June 16, 1941, Detroit, MI Edward Holland: born October 30, 1939, Detroit, MI Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - 1990 Songwriters Hall of Fame - 2009 Best-known songs (this is gonna take a while): "Heat Wave" (Martha & the Vandellas, Linda Ronstadt); "Can I Get a Witness" (Marvin Gaye); "Baby Love," "Come See About Me" (the Supremes); "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" (Marvin Gaye, James Taylor); "Reach Out I'll Be There" (Four Tops). Here's another Holland/Dozier/Holland song that Marvin Gaye recorded:

Nobody else to add concerning this legendary team. Definitely not out of left field but a no brainer.

I just assumed Willie Nelson wrote all of those classic songs as well.

Some really great and memorable songs. They were a good songwriting team. Thanks for sharing. Usually we know or remember the songs but don't know who wrote them if the artist didn't write them.

Easily one of if not the greatest songwriting teams of all time especially when you consider longevity
