The Country Music Hall of Fame class of 2017 was announced this morning in a press conference hosted by Vince Gill. The new Hall of Famers are: DON SCHLITZ (songwriter): the man who wrote classics such as "The Gambler" and "Forever and Ever, Amen." JERRY REED (veterans era): Son! Songwriter, ace guitar player, singer (his "When You're Hot, You're Hot" was a pop crossover), and actor ("Snowman" in the Smokey and the Bandit movies). Reed died in 2007. ALAN JACKSON (modern era): one of the biggest superstars of the 80s and 90. He has sold over 60 million records and won multiple CMA awards. Our myLotter @TRBRocks420 is doing a countdown of his favorite Alan Jackson songs right now, so you can check that out to see some of his biggest successes. Congratulations to the new Country Music Hall of Fame members!!!

I guess it makes sense for Alan Jackson. I don't know Don Schiltz. It that The Gambler as in Kenny Rogers? Glad for Jerry Reed.

Yes, that's the song. He's written quite a lot of big hits.

@FourWalls Alan Jackson's country music is what I would prefer to hear. I watched the Country Music Awards Sunday night and did not LIKE even ONE of the songs that were presented.

@IreneVincent -- I don't even bother anymore. I joke that ACM means "Ain't Country Music," while CMA stands for "Country, My Rear End."
